The Breakdown
WWF February Build Up Week 1 2012
RAW
-Opening segment sees all the “light heavyweight” class wrestlers in the ring. HBK comes out, with a black bag, and announces the return of the X Division Championship at Wrestlemania. Until then we are to have a tournament between all the men in the ring, with the Semi Finals at No Way Out and the finals at Wrestlemania. All seems good with this, even Chris Sabin who lost the WWF title match last night, but it’s Dolph Ziggler who speaks up. He says that isn’t a cruiserweight. HBK says that his weight class argues, though agrees that times have changed as that goes. He then says to Dolph that this isn’t about weight, it’s about having a title that they can all make their own, a division that every man in this ring can make as good as any in the WWF. He says that Dolph should thinking about not only what the title could do for him, but what he could do for the title. Ziggler then tells them all that he intends to win and will make it the best title in the WWF by holding it. Sabin picks up a microphone and says that Ziggler better get ready because every man in this ring can wrestler, and several of them have been champions in the WWF already. Especially Hayabusa, the last X Division Champion before it was unified at last year’s Wrestlemania. And himself who, if he hadn’t noticed, beat Chris Jericho 3 times and almost won the World title last night. Ziggler responds saying that “almost” won cut it against him. Sabin then goes for him but is held back by Shawn. He then wishes all the men in the ring good luck because the tournament begins tonight.
-We are informed that Jushin Liger on his own is headed for ROH’s live event in the nearby town. We are told that a camera man went with him and will document and send anything if it occurs. We are also told that Liger may or may not have a concussion from the assault last night. But unless he tries to compete there is nothing the WWF can do.
-Backstage Jericho bumps into Sabin and says he heard what he said; he reminds him that he eliminated him from the Royal Rumble and he also just got Shawn to grant him a rematch tonight. Sabin says he has no problem in beating him again. Jericho grins as he watches him walk off, then gets serious and grabs the camera pulling it towards him and asking that the Undertaker show up later on because if wants to get even for everything that he should come meet him in the ring after his match with Sabin.
-X Division Championship Tournament First Round: Dolph Ziggler VS Naomichi Marufuji: Dolph Ziggler
-Stone Cold Steve Austin comes out. He cuts a promo on how much winning the Royal Rumble meant and what he intends to do at Wrestlemania. He says he doesn’t care who the Champion is, he will win. He guarantees to win.
-X Division Championship Tournament First Round: Davey Richards VS Naito: Davey Richards
-The Miz and Wade Barrett come to the ring. Miz says he beat him last week on Raw and he eliminated him from the Royal Rumble, so he just wanted to tell him it’s done between them. That’s all. Samoa Joe comes out, Miz and Barrett run, Joe giving chase.
-We now see footage of an incident elsewhere in the arena where Chris Jericho has walked right up to Steve Austin, the two yell at each other until Miz and Barrett run up, Joe chasing them. Jericho them slaps Austin around the face and runs into a fancy locker room with Barrett and Miz. From behind now comes Cornette and Ziggler with chairs, the gang beating them both down and then heading out of the room and shutting the door. As they do we see the Company’s name on the door. As the four strong men now hold the door Cornette chuckles as he walks up jingles the keys and locks the door. He then places them in his pocket and the Company walk off laughing. The camera man moving the camera frantically and yelling running off for help.
-When we come back from break we see several members of security trying to break the door down, the door banging as Austin and Joe try to get out. They however are unsuccessful. JR tells us we will stay with this and let everyone know what happens.
-The Rock comes out and says he is in a very bad mood so whoever is his opponent tonight better get ready for a beating:
-The Rock VS Bryan Danielson: Rock beats the living hell out of Bryan, even after winning the match with the Rock Bottom. He then places a chair over Bryan’s neck in the “Pillman” style and then delivers a peoples elbow onto it. Bryan is coughing up blood. Rock then gets on the microphone and says this match is dedicated to HBK who he then challenges to a match “any place, any time.”
-Interview with AJ Styles from the MSG after the show last night about Austin being the one to win the Rumble. AJ replies that he is happy it’s him because he hasn’t beaten him yet and they have issues they need to settle.
-We are then shown an incident that happened only minutes ago and was wired to the product truck of Jushin Liger trying to break into the arena ROH are performing at. He is wearing street clothes but for his mask as he is held back by security. Liger is yelling in Japanese and we have no idea what he is saying but he is pissed. ROH wrestler Yoshi Tatsu comes out to meet him and the two yell back and forth in Japanese until Liger snarls, yells something and heads towards the camera saying “he not here. Orton. I will find you.”
-When we come back we get a word with HBK who says he will not accept the Rock’s challenge because he is retired and last night was for “one night only.” He then says that he was responsible for booking Orton in the rumble match, with no idea of his attentions, and will make it right by paying Orton a fine fee and ordering him to be at Raw next week to explain his actions. HBK then says that he needs to go deal with the Austin and Joe situation.
-Main Event: Chris Jericho VS Chris Sabin:
These two rivals tear it up as only that can, fueling their hatred behind every blow and signature move. Jericho’s game plan is obvious as he targets the legs and lower back with shots and painful submission holds, Sabin meanwhile uses his speed to maneuver around Jericho and hit big move be them high flying or ground based. In the final moments Jericho ducks a closeline attempt and comes in behind, taking him down with the one handed bulldog then hitting the lionsault for 1…2…NO!!! Sabin kicks out and Jericho is furious. He drags Sabin up and beats away on the back, then goes to lock in the walls, but Sabin is able to turn and kick him off. Jericho stumbles forward and then right around into Sabin as he lifts Jericho and drives him down with the future shock for 1…2…NO! Jericho kicks out to Sabin’s shock now and the crowd loud disappointment. Then as Jericho rises up Sabin goes to the top rope and flies off, though right into the Walls of Jericho, Jericho turns him over and locks it in, pulling back and syncing in the hold tighter. Sabin holds on for much longer than many have in the past…almost getting to the ropes…but Jericho then pulls him back and twists it up into a full Lion Tamer! And Sabin has no choice but to tap out!
Winner: Chris Jericho
-After the match Jericho does not break the Walls, holding Sabin in it till he passes out. Shelly and Velvet run out but are attacked from behind by Sherri and Cornette, Cornette with his tennis racket to Shelly. Jericho then has “the trash” thrown out the ring and demands the Undertaker get out here. King says “Oh man, it’s a trap JR.” “Of course it’s a trap” JR replies, and we have word Austin and Joe are still locked in the Companies locker room with the arena skeleton key not here yet. Undertaker comes out and walks right up to Jericho. That is when the rest of the Company comes out. Miz, Ziggler, Barrett and Jericho hammer into Undertaker but to the joy of the crowd Taker fights back until all they get the jump and hit him with all their finishers. Jericho then nails a second codebreaker, then a 3rd and then orders them to break Undertaker up the ramp. They do so. At the top of the ramp Taker gives one last effort to fight them off but he is quickly overwhelmed and rammed into the stage. Jericho then goes backstage and brings out gasoline, the company keeping all the officials back as Jericho pours it on an arena besides the stage and then sets it on fire! An Inferno blazes, higher than the stage as Jericho then grabs Taker and throws him off the stage and into the fire! We can no longer see the Phenom, engulfed in flames as men rush out and trying to put the fire out with extinguishers and only partially successful as Jericho looks down at the inferno with an evil smile as Raw goes off the air.
Smackdown!
-Daffney w/ Kendra VS Velvet Sky: Daffney
- X Division Championship Tournament First Round: The Pope VS Santino Marella: The Pope
-Chris Jericho and the Company come out. Jericho says that he knew how much Undertaker loved hell so he created some right on Earth with that fire and sent him into it. He says that no one found Taker’s body, but he knows that he escaped with at least second degree burns to most of his body. After all he is just a man. And men burn. Just like his brother burned, just like his parents burned. The Miz then takes the microphone and says that it may have been a plot to get rid of him but he meant what he said on Monday, he and Joe are done. He also says that he heard it took another half an hour after Raw went off the air for him and Austin to finally be free. Austin and Joe come out, Austin says that given how angry they both were they almost tore each other to shreds in that room…until they realized that’s what the Company would have wanted. He says that it’s the oldest story in the book, they may not be team players and they may not get on but they respect each other and know that they both want a piece of the Company’s asses. HBK then comes out and announces that tonights Main Event will be Austin and Joe VS Miz and Jericho! And that the rest of the Company is banned from ringside.
- X Division Championship Tournament First Round: Alex Shelly VS Eddie Edwards: Alex Shelly
- No Limit VS KENTA & Marufuji VS the Dudley Boyz VS the NBK: KENTA & Marufuji
- Kendra w/ Daffney VS Taylor Wilde w/ Hayabusa: Kendra. After the match Daffney says that they will be seeing Hamada very soon.
-Main Event: Chris Jericho & the Miz VS Stone Cold & Samoa Joe: Jericho and the Miz when after a miscommunication between Joe and Austin allows Austin to be hit with the codebreaker and pinned for the 3. Joe and Austin continue arguing until the rest of the Company arrive and put the beat down on them both until security come on the scene and break it up. HBK then comes out and announces that next week on Raw there will be a rematch of tonight except this time it will be a table’s match! Smackdown comes to a close as Austin and Joe rise up and look across at each other and then to their hated rivals to end the show.
WWF February Build Up Week 2 2012
Raw
X Division Championship Tournament First Round: Chris Sabin VS Shannon Moore:
Moore uses all of his high flying skills to take it to the popular star, but Sabin has a few tricks up his sleeve too, adopting more of a technical submission based style for this match to counter Moore’s quickness. In the end it’s a cradle shock and a 3 count to end it. Sabin advances and looks more determined than ever heading into next week’s quarter finals.
Backstage HBK says he is proud of the X Division tournament so far and then says “now about the WWF Championship…” When the Rock walks in to heavy boos.
Rock demands that HBK make him the number one contender, saying that if he is too much of a Jesus loving pusy to fight him then at least give him his rightful shot at AJ. Shawn lets the insults slide and agrees Rock is one of the people who are deserving of being number one contender. The other however is Intercontinental Champion Jushin “Thunder” Liger. So tonight he will put them in a Number One Contendership match. Rock agrees to this saying he will hand that “Power Ranger” his ass and destroy him just like he did Bryan and just like he would Shawn before walking off.
Ayako Hamada VS Daffney w/ Kendra: If Daffney wins she becomes the number one contender for the Women’s Championship.
After a heated and vicious match with various questionable tactics from Daffney she gets caught with the Hamada-Chan Cutter but as Hamada goes for the pin Kendra comes in on the attack. The two women then regroup and commence beating the hell out of Hamada until officials arrive and pull them off. Howard Finkle then announces that due to disqualification the winner is Hamada and therefore Daffney is not the number one contender. Daffney is livid, screaming at the top of her lungs at the referees and Finkle. Hamada meanwhile has a slight grin on his lips as she grabs her title belt and heads up the ramp as we got to break.
X Division Championship Tournament First Round: Finlay VS King Kobashi:
Finlay brings his wrestling skill and veteran tactics to the match, while King Kobashi just brings his burning Japanese fire and desire to become champion in America for the first time. Both men slug is back and forth in a good old school ground and pound technical match with many chops from Kobashi. But it the end it’s the burning sword hammer for the 3 count and Kobashi advantages to the Quarter finals.
Backstage Chris Jericho and the Miz are interviewed by Gene Okerlund in their locker room. Both show confidence for tonights match. Jericho says that last week he took out the Undertaker, before than he disposed of Sabin, before than he sends HBK into an office job as the GM. Now it’s time to finally put “ol’ Stone Cold” out of his misery. Get him out of the way so that Jericho can injure him and take his place at Wrestlemania in the Main Event. Miz says he is furious that HBK burdened him with Joe again as he has proven he can beat him again. Just like Jericho has time and time again with Austin over the last year.
Then Wade Barrett comes in and looks annoyed, asking Miz why it’s Jericho and him teaming up and not the Nexus. Miz replies that it was Shawn’s choice and not his, and that they agreed to it because Jericho has business with Austin and Miz has business with Joe. Barrett agrees and goes back into line with the smug Ziggler while Jericho and Miz finish up their cocky interview.
Number one Contendership match: The Rock VS Jushin “Thunder” Liger.
What a matchup this is, a rematch from the IC title match weeks ago. They hammer into each other, with Liger getting the upper hand any time Rock tries to wrestle but Rock getting the upper hand when it comes to pure brawling. He also manages to hit Liger with several well timed counters and moves to wear him down. Liger also seems to be fueled with a new fire of hate after what has happened with Randy Orton at and since the Royal Rumble. After a 15 minuet battle Liger hits the Brain buster and goes for the pin for 1…2…NO! Rock kicks out. Liger now signals for the end, and gestures for Rock to get up before nailing the Liger Bomb. But the crowd then stand and get wild as Randy Orton runs though then and over the guard rail. He trips and takes off the referee with an RKO. Liger now stands from the pin and sees Orton, we cannot see his eyes but know they are burning with hate as he lets out a cry of rage and runs towards him. But as he reaches the ropes Orton runs up onto the ring apron and nails the RKO, sling shooting Liger back around right into a Rock Bottom! Orton then jumps over the rail and hides as another official runs out, slides in and counts 1…2….3!
The boos are thunderous as Rock grins, getting his hand raises in victory and cockily signaling a title belt around his waist. He then yells “I’m coming for your bald monkey ass Austin! Your mine at Wrestlemania!” As he heads up the ramp and to the back. Back in the ring Liger now rises. But Orton comes back into the ring and hits him with an RKO keeping him on the mat.
Orton then gets a microphone and says that Shawn wanted him here, he paid him to be here and so he’s here. Unluckily for Liger. He then says that the reason he offered himself up for the Royal Rumble, the reason he wanted to enter and did enter it so he could cost Liger it and take him out was simple…reputation. For over a year Orton says he was recognized as the longest reigning, greatest champion in the wrestling world…when suddenly there was another. As he lost his title in a freak accident Christopher Daniels he saw as another man passed his record as the longest reigning champion of the modern age. He held the title for a year and a half and now Liger has just passed that record. He says he intends to correct that. He will make sure that Liger losses his title, just like he lost his. That Liger’s reign has made the IC title the title to obtain in the WWF, and Liger the man everyone wants to get their chance to finally beat. And the man that will beat him…will be Randy Orton. His music then hits as he kicks Liger to keep him down then drops the mic on him and leaves through the crowd.
When we come back it’s confirmed. James Buchanan and Karl Dutton in Coordination with Shawn Michaels have booked Randy Orton VS Jushin “Thunder” Liger for the IC title at No Way Out.
KENTA and Nakajima Marufuji VS the Dudley Boyz: KENTA and Nakajima Marufuji after a heated tag team match. Backstage NBK look on with great interest.
Main Event Tables Eliminated Tag Team Match: The Miz and Chris Jericho (The Company) VS Samoa Joe and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
This is a war to say the least. Miz and Joe tear into each other, Joe obviously with the upper hand. Jericho and Austin the same. They however would switch it up would make things a little more interesting. In the final moments of this over 20 minuet battle The table is set up and Austin throws Jericho on it and goes up top, flying off with the flying forearm but Jericho moves leaving Austin to crash though the table. He then picks him up and throws him over the top rope and down through a table on the outside. Austin is gone. Jericho loves this and for a time they keep on Joe, double teaming him and it seeming almost academic until Austin returns and then forward suplexes Jericho down through a table. But it doesn’t count. So Austin goes and sets up another table as Joe hammers Miz down and then sets it up, throwing Jericho to Joe who sends him over and down through the table with the capture suplex. Jericho is gone. Austin now takes Jericho and throws him over the guard rail, hammering him back through the crowd, but Jericho manages to come back and land a few shots of his own. The two now trade vicious blows as they fight off through the crowd into the outside rim of the arena. The crowd going nuts around them until security and referee’s arrive pulling them apart.
Back in the ring and now it’s pretty much a formality as Joe sets up another table, but Miz fights him off and then goes to the top rope, but from that Joe catches him, drops back and drives him down through the table with a muscle buster!
Joe has won the match and gets his hand raised in victory. But then from behind comes Wade Barrett who picks up one of the remaining tables and throws it crashing it down over the head of Joe and breaking it in two over his head! Barrett now chuckles down at Joe as King informs us that he can now interfere as the match is over. He then helps Miz up and the two put the boots to Joe and then head out of the ring, laughing and yelling at the fans smugly as they walk up to the back. Joe won the match but they got the last laugh here. That is until HBK comes out and informs Miz that since his and Joe’s matches bend the rules, and since they are so versed in using weapons on each other. He and Joe will face each other at No Way Out in a Street Fight! Miz swallows at this, but then gets even more nervous and wide eyed when Shawn informs him that Barrett and the rest of the Company, just like tonight will be banned from ringside. As Miz practically has a heart attack and fans go wild for this from under the debris of the table rises Samoa Joe who as he picks his head off the mat sneers over a Miz and then gets a small smile on his face as Raw fades to black.
Smackdown!
Smackdown begins with Austin having found Jericho backstage and is commencing in picking up right where they left off at Raw beating the hell out of him all up the corridor as out camera’s follow. That is until the Company arrives and hammer into Austin. All ignore and push back officials as they all stomp away at Austin. But then from behind them comes Samoa Joe, throwing Ziggler into a wall, Barrett into a drink vendor and then chasing Miz and Barrett off up the hall. Jericho watches this and then turns right as Austin is back up and hammers into him again, dragging him now past yelling officials and security, pushing them back with warning off a beating out now through gorilla position and down the aisle, beating him the whole way. Austin then throws Jericho into the ring and hits him with the stunner. But he’s not done, going outside and grabbing himself a chair. But as he comes in with it security fills the ring…so Austin hits a couple of them with a chair and backs them off before going back on Jericho…when Shawn Michaels comes out and yells for him to stop. Stone Cold ignores him but Shawn says that is Austin doesn’t stop then he will strip him of his Wrestlemania title match right now. That gets Austin’s attention. Shawn says that he can have Jericho, but he can have him in a more…controlled environment. Austin chuckles at that as he drops the chair and walks to the other side of the ring. HBK says that Austin can face Jericho in one final match to settle the score between them at No Way Out. Austin nods to this. But now Jericho is up, runs up past security, grabs the chair, and takes advantage of a distracted Austin and hits with a codebreaker with the steel chair! Jericho laughs manically at this as he is taken dragged back by officials and looks to Shawn as if to say “thanks.” Shawn lowers his head and looks annoyed at that.
When we come back Gene Okerlund gets a word with Shawn who informs us that tonight since Jericho is so ready to fight he will face RVD tonight. The Rock then comes in and says that it every week Shawn proves he is right about him, tonight with Austin being a prime example. Rock goads him with worse and worse insults but HBK ignores him but then says that tonight Rock will face the Big Show.
X Division Championship Tournament First Round: Hayabusa VS Nunzio: Hayabusa.
Kenta & Marufuji VS No Limit: Kenta & Marufuji
The Rock VS the Big Show: The Rock
Women’s Number One Contendership: Kendra w/ Daffney VS Hamada: Similar situation to Raw as when Hamada looks like she may get it with the La Ayakita Daffney runs in and bashes Hamada in the back of the head for the DQ. The two women take their frustrations out, beating down Hamada until Awesome Kong runs out for the save. It looks like Kong has made a temporary alliance with Hamada just like she did with Trish. But then grabs Hamada and drives him down with the Awesome Bomb, she then grabs the Women’s title and holds it up over her head as Daffney and Kendra look on as they back off up the ramp. Things have just gotten a lot more complicated.
Backstage interview with the Motor City Machine Guns. They saw that they are very confident about winning the X Division title, and their recent setbacks are nothing but that. Setbacks. Velvet adds to this saying that she proved herself at the Royal Rumble, but now she has a taste for the gold and wants more. They all agree that they are the Gold Rush Trio right now.
X Division Championship Tournament First Round: KENTA VS Amazing Red: KENTA
Main Event: Chris Jericho VS RVD: Chris Jericho. But after he gets his hand raised Austin is back, turns him around and gives him a hard Stone Cold Stunner, then takes off into the crowd before the Company has time to stop him. The Company gathers round Jericho and look out into the crowd at Austin who flips them off to end the show.
WWF February Week 3 Build 2012
Raw
-X Division Championship Tournament Quarter Finals: Dolph Ziggler VS Davey Richards:
The two start it out at breakneck pace and barely stop with counter moves in sequences, each trying to take the advantage on their latest innovative counter. Richards uses his rough neck shots combined with his speed, while Ziggler tries to keep it grounded and counter each high risk move he can in to power moves that weaken Davey down. They battle in an awesome 26 minute match which ends when Richards goes for the super kick but Ziggler goes behind and nails the Zigzag for the 3 count. Ziggler advances to the Semi finals and weather the crowd like it or not he earned it. He falls with sweat dripping back into Sherri as she and the ref hold his hands up, screaming “YES!” And that he is that step closer to making the X Division title his as he head up to the back, Richards looking on in disappointment.
-Backstage HBK is interviewed by Okerlund. He announces that tonight to take Liger’s mind off the situation with Orton and because he wants to give people a dream match HE will come out of retirement tonight for one more night only to face Jushin “Thunder” Liger in the main event. He carries on talking, hyping up the match when the Rock bursts in enraged at this. Rock says that he dared to duck him for weeks now and now he will face Liger? He continues to yell and insult Shawn but HBK replies that if Rock dares to interfere in the match, so long as he can speak he will fire Rock on the spot. Rock says if this goes forward it will end badly for everyone involved. HBK continues his message. Rock rants some more until HBK calls for security and orders Rock to take the night off as he is carried away yelling.
-Women’s Number One Contendership: Daffney VS Awesome Kong VS Kendra:
The Champion Hamada comes out to watch this at ringside. Kendra and Daffney obviously work together in this hammering into Kong which is moderately successful as the beast charges back and takes it to the both of them but even for her the monster Kendra and the vicious, cunning Daffney are too much. Daffney hits 2 Daff knees face breakers; Kendra hits a modified tombstone and then chokes Kong out of the sleeper hold. Kong obviously does not submit but passes out and slumps to the mat. Hamada and everyone else looks on in confusion now as Daffney covers, but is pulled off by Kendra, Kendra covers, but is pulled off by Daffney. This alliance appears to be showing cracks as neither can seem to decide who should be the one to get the title, when both them cover Kong for…2! Kong kicks out and the crowd goes crazy. Daffney and Kendra go nuts and pick Kong up but Kong comes to life and charges Kendra over the top rope with a closeline then turns back to Daffney, grabs her and drives her into the mat with the Implant Buster and covering for 1….2….NO! Kendra is back with the leap pipe and drives it down across the back of the head of Kong for the disqualification. The crowd boos for this, and more so as Kendra and Daffney double team Kong, stomping away at her on the mat. When Hamada charges into the ring and drives her title off of Kendra’s skull taking her down. Daffney sees this, snarls and screams loudly as she charges in…and gets taken own with an AP Cross. Both dark women roll out the ring as Hamada stands tall to huge cheers from the fans. Then as Kong rises Hamada turns…then runs in and grabs Kong and drives her down with the Hamada Chan cuter in revenge for last week on SD. She then holds up her Women’s title and yells down at Kong and then to Daffney and Kendra that this is hers.
-A Limo pulls up and the Company arrives, looking over their shoulder nervously as they enter the arena. Cornette tells the driver to take the car away from the arena so it doesn’t get destroyed by “that criminal.”
-In the locker room now Okerlund gets an Interview with the WWF Champion AJ Styles who is back from a couple of weeks rest and promotional tour. He states that he is more than ready to defend his title against the Rock because they have unfinished business. He says that it seems that is the theme of this PPV, unfinished business with rivalries to be settled that have been raging for a long, long time to finally blow off before the big one at Wrestlemania. He also says he couldn’t think of a better way to prove to Austin that he can beat him than be beating the Rock…again.
-X Division Championship Tournament Quarter Finals: The Pope w/ Ezekiel Jackson VS Alex Shelly:
Shelly tears right into Pope using everything he has in his high flying, strike based offense to try and put the Pope away early. Pope though is able to take advantage and beats down on Shelly for the majority of the match, going for the DDE…when Shelly moves and then hits the Shell Shock for the 3! Shelly advanced to face Ziggler in the quarter finals!
-The Company comes out but before they even reach the bottom of the ramp Austin jumps them from behind. Then from the crowd comes Samoa Joe who throws Barrett over and into the crowd then hammers into Miz. Austin throws Ziggler into the stage and then focuses on Jericho. Security and referees try to hold them back but they are men possessed and continue beating the hell out of Miz and Jericho now into the ring. The Austin gets a microphone…and a beer as Joe chokes of Miz. Austin says that they just couldn’t wait for No Way Out, he says that it may be the night to settle these scores but for him No Way Out is the best title there is because that’s exactly what will be the case for Jericho, and he is sure Miz too on that night. Austin then goes to attack Jericho again, Joe still not having let go of Miz when Wade Barrett runs into the ring, pushes past the yelling officials…almost gets to Austin when Joe charges and takes him down with a hard spear, pummeling down into him. Austin then picks Jericho up and says he doesn’t care what Jericho does to anyone else, he will always get the better of him…and then gives him a stunner. Joe and Austin then finally relent and let officials help. The entire company laid out in and around the ring as the two fan favorites leave to huge cheers.
-Paul Burchill w/ Tyler Rekks & AAE VS Chris Sabin w/ Velvet Sky: Chris Sabin
-Backstage we hear yelling from the companies’ locker room. The camera manages to see Jericho yell something about how they need to turn them against each other when Cornette sees it and slams the door too.
-AJ Styles VS King Kobashi: AJ Styles
-Main Event: Jushin “Thunder” Liger VS Shawn Michaels:
Liger beats the hell of HBK viciously to the shock of everyone. JR and King wondering if this is because of Orton. Shawn defiantly tries to fight back on the outside but Liger grabs a monitor and smashes it across the head of Michaels. That causes the DQ but Liger is not done there, throwing Shawn into the ring post to bust him open, then kicking away the top of the ring steps and placing his head on the bottom set of steps, lifting the first set up and driving it down to crush Shawn’s head between the two sets of steps! Liger then throws the lifeless, bloody HBK into the ring and hits…the Rock Bottom. The crowd begins to change its buzz now, smelling what is cooking as Liger stands and rips of his mask to reveal…the Rock! The full body suit made a perfect disguise for this ambush. Everyone is confused but soon they get their answers as we see Randy Orton standing in the crowd and grinning in at Rock who raises and eyebrow back. He then grabs a microphone and taunts Shawn some more as finally security hit the ring to pull him away as Raw fades to black.
Smackdown!
-We are told that Shawn has been released from hospital and flown home to Texas to rest up. We are also told that the board has no other choice but to the run the wrestling end of the WWF themselves until a replacement GM can be found. They however say that Rock has now taken out to figure heads, one the owner and one the GM whenever their booking didn’t suit his needs. So he will be punished for his actions even if HBK and Dutton are refusing to press charges. They will allow Rock to keep his title match at No Way Out but he will be fined 300,000 dollars with an official warning that if he ever does that to a company official again then he will be fired, no matter who he is.
-KENTA & Marufuji VS the American Wolves: KENTA and Marufuji.
-We are told the board recognize that KENTA and Marufuji have beaten ever Tag Team but one…one whose member Chris Sabin put back in the line for the title match by beating Burchill on Raw Monday. So next week on Raw KENTA and Marufuji will face the Motor City Machine Guns for the Number One Contendership for the Tag Team titles at NWO.
-Kendra VS Ayako Hamada: Kendra. We are told that in another ruling the board will make a decision regarding the Women’s title to be announced next week on Raw for NWO. Lawler says that this win has to be a big factor in those talks now. Also of note is that Daffney IS NOT at ringside with Kendra.
-Backstage Okerlund interview Jim Cornette outside the Companies locker room. Cornette says that he just got off the phone with the board of directors and they agree that Joe and Austin were out of the control on Raw so tonight they will face each other in the Main Event. Cornette is obviously very happy about this.
-X Division Championship Tournament Quarter Finals: Chris Sabin VS King Kobashi: Chris Sabin.
-AJ Styles comments on the Rock’s actions. He says that if he was in charge the Rock would be fired now. But he isn’t and so AJ says he himself will have to hand out old fashioned justice in the title match next Sunday.
- X Division Championship Tournament Quarter Finals: Hayabusa VS KENTA: Hayabusa
-AJ Styles VS Jake “The Snake” Roberts: AJ Styles
-Main Event: Stone Cold Steve Austin VS Samoa Joe:
The two beat the living hell out each other, their mutual respect tossed right out the window for the bragging rights of winning this one. Austin then hits the stunner…but before he can even cover the Company comes from all sides and attack beating into the two for the DQ. The boos reign down as one by one the Company hit their finishes on the men. Nexus hitting their Waste Land/ neckbreaker combo on Joe and then the SCF from Miz to finally keep him down. Jericho keep Austin locked in the walls, locking in on his bad knees and back until he passes out from the pain. Jericho then gets on the microphone and says that two can play the jumping game and tonight they showed what happens when you cross them. With that Smackdown comes to a close.

He then adds that if he could go back and screw Joe at Summerslam again…he would! In fact he would do it a million times just to know that he stopped a fat, overrated, unsafe idiot become WWF Champion. That sets Joe off who charges to the ring and tackles Miz down, beating into him when Barrett manages to pull him off. Smackdown then comes to a close.

So he will be punished for his actions even if HBK and Dutton are refusing to press charges.
