I thought this would be a good idea. I'm gonna write down, in my opinion, the three best matches I've written thusfar in 2011. (Starrcade being included) Give thoughts, feedback, or whatever, and if you wanna do the same with your own matches, post your own thread and we'll work from there. So, here we go!
3.) Goldberg vs. Chono - NWA Sin 2011, G1 Grand Finale. This match took me a solid two-hour sitting to write properly and really showcase both of these guys as the badass, dominant monsters that they are. These two threw everything at each other, and the crowd was hot. The hardest part of this match was, believe it or not, the intros, because they make up for about four minutes of the actual running time itself, haha. This was a LOT of fun to write and edit, I was so damn excited, you can hear my headset fall off my head at one point in the match.
2.) McIntyre/Morrison/Patriot/Cena/Chono - NWA Starrcade 2011, NWA US Championship Scramble Match. Unlike the traditional Scramble match, we decided to do things a little differently with this one. We had all five men just wrestle for 25 minutes, and that timer REALLY helped me add drama elements to this match. EVERYONE had a chance at this title, except for Morrison. Hell, Chono had the title twice in this match, and was the dominant player. The timer made for an exciting match, and I believe everyone in this match really had a moment to shine. Of course, the standout moment of this match is Morrison winning the US Title with two seconds left to spare on the clock, and beginning his streak of show-stealer, starting with this night.
1.) HBK vs. Morrison - SuperCard 2011. This tops the list easily. This took me a grand total, after writing and editing, seven and a half hours to do, and this was NOT a hard match to write. It was just that damn good. HBK got in lots of excellent offense, Morrison rallied back, they countered everything, hit every finisher they could, and somehow, at the very end, HBK, being as Karl says the "wily veteran" is able to pull it out at the end. Incredible match to write, edit, and listen back to.
What do you guys think? Send me your comments and feedback on what YOU think my best three matches are, agree, disagree, and post your thoughts! Feel free to follow with your own threads and continue this thread!
