Randy Ricci, a former production manager for TNA Wrestling, claimed in a blog post on Friday that the reason Desmond Wolfe has not been wrestling in recent months is because he has Hepatitis C—a viral disease that leads to inflammation of the liver.
Ricci adds that the former ROH World Champion will be offered an office job, if he can no longer wrestle.
Hulk Hogan addressed Desmond Wolfe's status with TNA Wrestling last week on Twitter, writing, "Desmond's situation is beyond TNA's control, the ball is completely in his court." However, the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicates otherwise.
Wolfe was scheduled to reform his partnership with Magnus late last year, but Douglas Williams was given the spot instead. Company officials have had plans for the former ROH World Champion to return, including this week, but they have yet to materialize.
Wolfe is currently appearing for various community theaters in Central Florida and working on writing projects.
It would seem as if Desmond is actually cleared to wrestle now, but yet he's not doing that, so why is that?
Well let's try to explain this and figure it all out. Since Desmond has suffered health problems for such a long time, TNA had to put him on a "freeze," in the business world that basically means you are no longer working for that company however you are still attached to that company. He's not getting paid, but he couldn't like go and wrestle for the WWE, he'd have to be released before something like that could happen, he is still apart of the TNA roster, he's not being paid because of this freeze he's on, and since his health issue has been going on so long there was no "return" date for him when TNA put him on the freeze because no one knew when that'd be.
Basically as soon as he's cleared and feels ready then he may come back, so technically it's his decision when he comes back, he can stay on "freeze" until his contract expires and decide what he wants to do then, I myself am worried about him whether he wants to come back or not.
TNA actually had major plans for him, like I figured when London Brawling was first put together he was only going to be with him for a short time, and then the British Invasion was going to be put back together, and him and Douglas Williams were going to have a feud with who the leader was. The idea was going to be very similar to The Rock and Faarooq with the Nation of Domination, the idea was top put Desmond Wolfe over majorly as a face and put Douglas Williams over huge as a heel. By late summer 2011 Desmond was expected to be the TNA Heavyweight Champion, but for whatever reason, Desmond is not coming back anytime soon.
Is he just wanting to finish his current obligations, is he contemplating his wrestling future, is he even 1005? All these questions could be the answer to why he hasn't come back yet. He's also been wrestling on and off since January, so it's not like he's covered with rust.
Currently no one in TNA knows what's going to happen with Desmond, the British Invasion was thrown together, and they are going to run with it for a bit to see whether Desmond will come back or not and they can continue with his storyline. The latest storyline with him revealed him back in TNA beating on Brutus Magnus and saying: "Why would you team up with the loser again?" Basically stating that the best wrestler in the UK is Desmond Wolfe, and Douglas is just second best.
i would love to see desmond return, and a wolfe/doug williams fued i think would be great, they would probly have amazing matches.
i hope this is true and he WILL return and be pushed to a main eventer
