TNA rebranding

SPOILER Alert: The following article contains a spoiler for next week's iMPACT!:

At Tuesday's TNA iMPACT! tapings from Orlando (set to air next Thursday, 5/2), Mick Foley was revealed to be the person from "the network" that has been keeping Hulk Hogan in line.

Foley came out and interrupted a promo by Immortal, informing them that TNA iMPACT! will now be known as "Impact Wrestling" - and the show will be "all about wrestling" - a clear jab at WWE, which has been distancing itself from everything "wrestling" in recent months.

Later in the show, they actually re-shot the entire segment, with Mick Foley saying that the show is no longer "TNA" - but "Impact Wrestling".

This led to some confusion as to whether it was the company name that was changing - or just the name of the television show.

In response to the confusion - Hulk Hogan tweeted the following on Wednesday, which appears to indicate that the "TNA" name is no more:

"No TNA. only IMPACT. HH"



So... TNA is changing its name from Total Nonstop Action wrestling to Impact Wrestling... yeah... that's gonna bring in ratings. <end sarcasm>

if they cut down on the promos and put on more wrestling, i think this is good, hopefully they do that, they have great talant there, but only a few can showcase themselves every week, so if theres more wrestling than people will get to see everyone or almost everyone.

TNA cut down on promos, most shows there is 90 minutes of promos to 10 minutes of wrestling. TNA wouldn't even have the balls to cut 5 minutes of a promo!

Honestly TNA could become the greatest wrestling promotion in the world and no-one would watch because like classic TNA, they would fuck it up whilst Hogan and Bischoff and Russo, and ALL the other cronies are there!

Impact Wrestling? I am not 100% sure but I am almost certain that is a rip off of another promotion. So what the fuck are they going to be called IW? The IW World Champion? Shit 1PW at least has a fucking number to make it sound good.

Anyone whom defends TNA for it's wrestling core is holding onto a cord of lifesupport, yes they CAN have good wrestling but once you have an opening promo segment that is 15 minutes then a quick one for 3 then a match with commercial then an end with another promo then a backstage promo on top of it with a match then a promo with another promo and then another promo (Watch last weeks Impact) something isn't right.

Now as far as Hogan leaving, if that is true, TN..IW has a chance of surviving but sadly when Hogan goes, so does all that multi million dollar 'talent' they spent and they have to start at square one. Not that it is a MAJOR problem but it essentially is a 'restart' and no company should ever do that. WcW did that once Bishoff came back into 'power' and it quickly and I do mean quickly folded.

This is what you call an 'attempt' to get people to watch. Just like that 'top ten' idea they had and if Kurt Angle lost a match he would 'retire?' The EV 2.0 idea. Global Title. These were all 'ideas' they put forth and realized they couldn't pull it off and 'forgot' about it. As long as Russo is running or writing or is within 100 miles of a wrestling ring, that company will NOT survive.
