Looks like we are not alone on the opinion that this was bullshit As we reported earlier, Randy Orton defeated Christian at the Smackdown tapings last night to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Apparently, when news of this angle hit the internet, angry fans flooded the Twitter pages of Randy Orton and Joey Styles, expressing their frustration with the title change. In response, Styles posted the following on Twitter: "When sending hate tweets to myself or @wwe because of @christian4peeps, @randyorton and the World Heavyweight Championship, please be PG  " Meanwhile, Randy Orton has been re-tweeting posts from angry fans, including the following Tweet: "You won the title.Vince has no idea how much people are hating YOU on the Internet. I don't get all this hate for Randy Orton for him winning the Championship. It's not his fault it's bookings fault. He just has to go out and do the match. Chances are he probably wanted Christian to have a title reign but the backstage crew said no.
I honestly think this hatred for Orton winning the title is not justified, if Orton was backstage saying he wants to be and deserves to be champion, then I would be angry. But we have NEVER heard a report of Orton bitching about being champion. Nine times out of ten we don't even hear a report of Orton being a dick backstage these last five years.
I honestly think people should cut Orton some slack on this one. I do feel sorry for him and all the hate he is getting.

My hatred is not for Orton the man, but Orton the character and the writers/Vince. It is SO obvious now that Del Rio would have gotten the title but Edge retiring rushed thr draft so they sent Del Rio to Raw and replaced Edge with Orton. Christain was just the way to get the belt on Orton.
I am angry because Orton is BORING right now, especially as champion. So much for the youth movement! I don't want to see Cena or Orton as Champion, it's been overdone. If champions were booked properly they would have had two or three long reigns by now, not like 6 or 7 shorter ones. Christain has his moment with Edge and finally doing it and all that...only for them to do this.
Yes James Randy Orton is not to blame. But you have to remember people, even "smarks" are marks who blame the individual and not the system. The only time the worker is at fault is if they suck in the ring. Which Orton does not!

I agree but out of EVERYONE they could have given that belt...Orton? They JUST came off a Bin Laden celebration they could have had Khali come out and say 'fuck america' and take the belt from christian, instant heat and angle.

Karl, I'd have to slightly disagree on the statement that Orton doesn't suck in the ring. No, he doesn't... YET. He's getting to that point where WWE is severely limiting him like they have done with Cena over the last five years. So, what we see from Super Orton is what we've seen from Super Cena for years now. Remember, Cena used to wrestle, and now he doesn't. Orton's getting the same way.
I want Randy Orton (the character) to fucking rot in hell. Much like how I want John Cena (the character) to be decapitated. The people playing the characters, not so much. I don't hate them on the same level I hate Batista, where I want the character, AND the person, injected with nuclear waste.

this is a fuckin joke just like wwe has been for 6 years now, they can't even see how christian works out being champ, 2 days and christian loses the title. i dont get it, how can wwe just waste talant like this every year, its pathetic. so christian was in tna for a few years, you dont have to make a joke of the guy, he is 1 of the more talanted wrestlers today. its not like orton needs another title, shit man thats 3 strikes for orton now
1. being responsible for getting ken anderson fired
2. having a hissy fit on live tv when kofi missed a spot in the match and pretty much ended any chance of him being a main eventer
3. now burying christian
i use to like orton a lot, but now he's just cens's twin and can fuck off with him

Im trying to be optimistic saying maybe christian will be top heel on smackdown now or something.......BUT lets face it....its going to be back to the midcard for christian. Hu in da hell is orton going to feud with on smackdown if they have this little faith in christian? I say it again......BS!

Alex, where is the legitamate proof of Orton being the one to get Kennedy fired, find me the 100% real proof. You can't why....Because it was never confirmed to be true! You cannot believe dirtsheets 99% of the time. Chances are Orton may have had something to do with it, but because of what happend in the match, people spin lies and twist facts. It's the way of life.
Your talking about the fact when he shouted "Stupid, Stupid" Well to be fair if he missed a spot, you would be annoyed. That probably is not the single reason he exactly got booted from the main event, but it may have been the catalyst. The fact is Orton KNOWS what he is doing, he knows what to do in the ring.
How has Orton buried Christian, because he beat him for the World Title, okay well then Chris Jericho buried Batista, Edge buried Hardy, Edge buried Dolph Ziggler, Cena and Edge buried each other and not for ONE SECOND, did anyone have as much rage as they do now. What's the difference oh it's big nasty Orton beating Christian, ohh we must boo Orton because of this. Simply put you might hate it, but it's getting a reaction out of you. The more you keep saying stuff, The more they run with it. Plus look at Christian's NWA title reign, absolute fail!
Also, everyone is now pissing all over this angle and people have not seen the match, or not seen where they are heading. GIVE THE ANGLE A CHANCE! One match does not kill everything and every hope of something happening. Chances are there is a reason behind this. Christian is much better as someone who chases the title over being the champion. Orton makes a better champion then as a chaser. They have done this LOADS of times. Give the angle a fucking chance before you blow jelly beans and babies out of your head.
I am sorry this turned into a rant at the end, but I am getting annoyed at people just crapping all over this angle before it has even started. Blame WWE and Vince because 99.9% of all ideas have to be run through him, Orton is just the worker. Plus if you were in the same shoes as Orton and was told you could win the World Title, you would take it, don't lie because you would, we all would!
Again sorry for the rant but stuff like this does my head in!

My anger with Orton has subsided a little bit, mainly because I read an update about this entire thing: Credit: F4WOnline.com - According to Dave Meltzer, the original plan for Extreme Rules was for Alberto Del Rio to win the World Title and then lose it to Randy Orton on Smackdown two days later. The change was made to Christian either the day before or the morning of the show. WHY?  ? Why does WWE have to constantly go with the "safe" route of putting the belt on someone that the fans want so quickly? What happened to building up drama and tension, like they did with Stone Cold? Everyone wanted him to win that belt, and he never did straight away. He had to fight and scratch and claw for it, and when he finally DID win it, everyone loved it! Also, Orton's had the belt seven or eight times now, he's already established as a main event figurehead and a big time champion. What's the point of building up new stars to the main events if they're just gonna get buried under Orton or Cena's feet? It's pointless, ridiculous, and as Orton would say, "STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!" |

The problem I have James is the fact that Christian worked his dick off to finally become a World Champion, I'm a big fan of work ethic, and they just spat in his face, saying 17 years of work was just for a two day title reign. I'm sorry but that's disrespectful, I don't care if it's 'storyline' you don't do that. With Cena/Edge at least Edge was able to also win it back and stay in the main event picture. The one thing that really sets me off is that they were going to give Orton the title anyway, reguardless of whom won that title, to me, that shows a great deal of disrespect towards Christian and Del Rio whom do what they're told and end up getting screwed in the end.
I'm not going to sit here and swallow the sympathy pill and stir WWE's juice, if you give someone a World Title you don't just take it away from them especially if it's their 'first' reign. Hell imagine if they did that to Benoit 24 hours later and took the belt away?
Point is I know WWE is doing this for 'reaction' but the big problem is, and you have to agree, out of EVERYONE on the Smackdown Roster...Orton? Really? What has he done this year to earn him that spot? Now I know Teddy said 'we'll let the fans decided' but essentially it was voting for a bucket of shit, a bag of piss, and Randy Orton, really could they make the choice any more obvious?
Some people argue that Orton is a better champion and draws more money as a champion, I decline this fact because people love people that chase a title rather than attain it. But IF we are going to accept that fact, why bother giving Christian the title if they were just going to give it to Orton anyway? I mean they gave it to Swagger and he dropped it, gave it to Shaemus and dropped it, gave it to Miz and he dropped it, despite length they were and now considered horrible champions. If they're not serious about it then they shouldn't give them the title. Why dick the fans around? And that's the main reason why I'm pissed. And as far as the fans going 'nuts' that Orton won? Watch that match again, they cheer for a total of 32 seconds and are dead quiet, explain that.
