The 2011 King of Trios tournament took place April 15, 16, and 17 at the Asylum Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As in the two previous years, 16 teams entered the tournament. The tournament marked the first time all scheduled participants were able to make it to the shows. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of Chikara Wrestle Factory graduate Alex Whybrow, better known as Larry Sweeney, who passed away on April 11, 2011. The whole tournament was released on DVD by Smart Mark Video on April 18, less than 24 hours after its conclusion.
