Well the Royal Rumble is finally over and done with. This is my (DM) review of it. I must say, I'm surprised.
1. Ziggler vs Edge - This is the opener of the night? Hmm...kind of devaluing the belt, whatever. Decent match I will say, Edge used the spear anyway (heel tactic) and retains the title. Hmm...well he retained, Ziggler's push is gone, next.
2. Miz vs. Randy Orton - Wait....so the Diva's title is worth more than both World Titles? Hmm. Kind of subpar, in fact I was getting a bit bored with the match, the fued, with Randy Orton. Punk interferes and screws Randy out of the match and Miz wins, does this make Miz a good champion...no...is Randy champion, no, am I complaining, no.
3. Women's match - Turned into a fatal fourway. Decent match though.....Eve Torres is now the new Diva's champion? Okay, well at least LayCool aren't the champions anymore but....wow really?
4. Royal Rumble - I'm going to break this up into two parts, the Good...and the Bad.
Good - Diesel and Booker T return! We just got Nashed Sucka! Rumble wasn't formulaic. John Cena Did NOT win. Randy Orton, DID NOT WIN. The pace was decent. John Morrison is now Epic. Alberto Del Rio is your Rumble winner!
Bad - The Corre/Nexus fight at the start of the show was pointless with no other members getting involved, thus the 'rivalry' now again, being pointless. Orton entering the Rumble......why? He lost, move on please. John Cena eliminating all of Nexus by himself.....*sigh* really? No....really? Can you make Nexus any less valueable? Ah give it another month and they'll think of something...oh wait...Cena/Orton vs. Punk/Miz...okay that explains it now. Hornswaggle in the rumble. Really? FUCKING A REALLY? You know what WWE....at this point, I nearly said 'fuck this' because now it's ridiculous. Big Show lasting two minutes, kane lasting two minutes, no cody rhodes and worst yet of the rumble, this is just me nit picking, no REAL build up, to me it almost felt as if it was a 'chapter' ppv and not an 'establish' ppv, especially with Chamber around the corner.
Overall I will say I enjoyed this pay per view though it was not the best rumble match to date. They could have done a bit more with it though this was the first year going to 40 so I'm sure they couldn't do everything at once. Glad Cena didn't win, pissed that Orton was in it but glad he lost and for a change, Santino and Del Rio closing out the show...you know what...I like that. Thanks WWE, decent show, better luck next year, now please, Push Morrison, seriously, he got a HUUUUUGGGEEEE Pop tonight, if you don't see it, you don't deserve your ratings.
