Current ROH World Heavyweight Champion Tyler Black has signed with World Wrestling Entertainment according to PWInsider.
There are not a lot of details available yet, but it is expected that Black won’t start with WWE until sometime in September after he his finished up with his scheduled dates with Ring of Honor. It is thought however that Black’s contract is a developmental deal, meaning he won’t come right to the main WWE roster. Black is the reigning and defending ROH World Champion and has been champion since defeating Austin Aries back in February.
ROH President Cary Silkin issued a “no comment” regarding the situation when PWInsider reporters contacted him.
To be honest this is a good and a bad thing. Tyler Black was overdue a title for at least a year so when he won it back at 8th Year Anniversary in February it didnt feel as big because it ...was overdue.
Now him signing is something interesting bearing in mind Punk is former ROH talent, Danielson was former ROH talent and both appeared on TV. McGuinness signed a deal but he got booted before he could get started. So i am optomistic on what this could do for both sides.
Shame ROH lose out on a great wrestler but its WWE's gain, although if this is going to be a hotshot to giving Davey Richards or Roderick Strong the title i will be pissed!

I have to say James unless ROH get Danielson back (which is doubtful now he has international exposure) they are really lossing all there top talent to WWE and TNA. I have heard people call ROH the ECW of this era and by god they may be right. I would not be surprised if they are on Vince's payroll

Honestly this is pretty good news for WWE, gaining Black is actually a pretty good pick up, as far as ROH being pulled through the trenches I don't think so there's still plenty of other talent that can hold that show proud.

Ok let me put it another way. Your are WWE and your top guys are Triple H, the Undertaker and HBK. Now say a bigger (yeah I know go with it) promotion took them due to money and career prospects. You wouldn't feel it hurt the company?

Well you also have to look at it like this, ROH has yet to really 'make it big' or strike a major TV deal other than HDNet. Sure it would suck but you also have to remember, when Hogan, Savage, Nash, Hall left WWE for another big company, WWE survived by pushing other talent. ROH will be fine, upsetting they're losing their top stars, but they'll just push others.
