Before anyone starts this is not going to be a "attitude era was so much better bring it back!" rant. That era was what it was and had its flaws but as much as I enjoy most of that era I also enjoyed what came before and most of what came after until post Wrestlemania 20. That is where it started. Now you can blame the fact I know the backstage stuff now and that is when I started to become a "smark" but infact that was a year before hand and I still enjoyed the product in 2003. Knowing backstage stuff does effect my emotions and attitude towards the show but only in a way that helps me appreciate what is truly good and see through the crap we are fed on a weekly bases.
Since 2004 it has been ups and downs but every year I pay money to that company, every year I pay for Wrestlemania. But not until the last year have I truly considered not watching WWE on a weekly bases, hell I have considered only watching PPVs. There are many reasons but the main one is that the product became more and more stale due to the fact the same old shit was getting very old. Then recently new hope that WWE had changed...but alas they set us up and then kick us in the fucking balls!
I am stick of being spoken down to! I am sick of being ignored! I am sick of being excited for something and then tuning in next week to see it ripped away! At least when WWE is boring they don't get my hopes up! This NXT thing was the last straw.
Now saying that was the segments on Raw good? Mostly. But what pissed me off where that all that made it great last week was gone. The heart, the realism, the feeling that is could be real was replaced with unconvinving readings of scripted lines ended in a hollywood segment. Other than that it was buisness as usual. Oh and lets not forget the "WWE and Raw are so great and we should rally together to put down this rebellion." No, fuck you! You do treat people like crap, your product it manufactured lazy garbage and your elitist attitude sucks. Even as their ratinsg plumet management and the Mcmahons continue to have this "they will like what I tell them to like" attitude. You know what would make us care about your talent Vince? Allowing them to get over with DIFFERENT styles and heartfelt promos! These people are not actors and will not always be great at reading lines! Instead you send them down to developmental to teach them to wrestle the "WWE way" which translates as "the same as everyone else" and then put words in their mouths that sound like everyone else!
Lasts weeks NXT angle and the prior Danielson storyline was hope that they knew all this and was trying to change, haveing Danielson shoot on their flaws and having the rookies rise up against your crap. But instead over the weekend they released Bryan for corperade reasons in a prime example of exactly why we now hate you WWE. THE TV PRODUCT AND YOUR CORE FANS COME FIRST! IF YOU GOT THAT MABYE YOU WOULDN'T HAVE LOST THEM IN DROVES OVER THE PAST FIVE YEARS! FUCK THE SPONSERS! I saw plenty of advertisments during 1999 and that was far worse than anything last week so obviously some companies don't care! And for Gods sake kids nowadays see violent and language in movies and video games that make Austin look tame! PG-13 movies are the largest grossing movies worldwide because kids and adults see and enjoy them! Alienating the fans that made you a billonare is frankly down right being a dick! You may as well start the WWE shows with "welcome kids. Wrestling fans hahah FUCK YOU!"
Sorry this seems to have mostly nothing to do with raw but all of this has been building in me for a long time and the hope of change being ripped away has just let it explode!
Raw was a standard 2010 Raw with a cast of heels called NXT and that my friends is very very wrong.
Applogies for the venom filled hatred here but I had to get it out!
If WWE don't change soon and hire back Danielson then this may be it for my weekly WWE habit. Thanks WWE you just turned away another fan.
