-Both men come out to huge reactions as Finkle announces the match for the title and introduces them both.
-Elizabeth removes Randy’s robe and glasses and steps elegantly to the outside as AJ removes his jacket and the title belt handing it to referee who holds it high for all to see and hands it to the timekeeper who then rings the bell and we are underway.
-Both men comes out of their corners and meet in the centre of the ring. Savage adjusts his tights and points to the sky in signature style trying to get under AJ’s skin and the IC champ responds in kind by bring his hand up and slapping Savage hard across the face. The crowd react with a huge “oh!” As Savage holds his face and turns back to AJ launching forward and locking up.
-Both men struggle back against each other in the collar elbow tie up until the Macho Man takes the advantage and pushes AJ back to towards the ropes. Savage breaks the hold as ordered and backs off for a clean break. Styles however running forward jumps up and nails the spinning back jumping kick taking Savage down. AJ stands and outstretches his arms wide in his signature pose to a mixed reaction, mostly in approval.
-Savage however is back and turns AJ around nailing him with several back hand chops and then hitting an atomic drop then sends Styles down in pain. Savage drops a standing elbow and covers for a quick 2 count. He does not let up, not letting AJ rises, going around and hooking the head in a rear chin lock and hooking the arm in a reverse overhand wristlock. Styles kicks at the mat but is finally able to power out, standing and grabbing Randy’s arm coming up in a hammering lock but Savage brings his arm up and takes AJ over with a snapmare.
-Savage waits for AJ to rise before hitting several back hand chops and back him into the corner, mounting him for ten punches. 1...2...3...4...5..6...7...On AJ blocks it and sends Savage back, jumping out of the corner and hitting and flying closeline.
-Styles then runs for the ropes and springboard off onto the rises Savage with a spinning cross body block. Cover for 2.
-He picks Savage up and spins going for the discuss closeline but Savage ducks underneath and turns AJ around smashing him with another back hand chop, two, three but AJ fires back with a forearm. Chop from Savage, forearm from AJ, chop, forearm, chop, forearm back and forth it goes as the crowd react with mixed “boo! Yay!” Finally Savage follows up Harley Race-style High Knee and then stand over AJ head, jumping up and driving down with a knee drop to the head. Cover for 1...2...NO!
-Savage stands and then pointing heads to the top rope, rises up and cupping his arm flying down with the double axe handle as AJ rises but AJ side steps it jumping and nailing a straight jumping Kick to the diving Savage smashing in the face and out of the air.
-AJ then grabs him up and then hits the ropes, jumping up and floating over for the springboard moonsault into a float over DDT he calls the stylin DDT and covering for 1...2...NO!
-Styles grumbles but does not take his eye off the ball instead rises Savage to a seating posting and hitting the far ropes, smashing him in the face coming in with a dropkick. Cover again for 1...2...NO!
-He goes to pick Randy up again but the Macho Man fires back with a back hand chop, jumping up and nailing a closeline.
-Savage pulls himself up, waiting for AJ to rise before striking him over and over with varied elbow strikes and then hitting a vertical suplex.
-Savage stands and again drives the elbow to the heart of Styles picking him up off the mat but no! SJ blasts him out of nowhere with the pele kick for 1...2...NO! Savage just gets the shoulder up.
-AJ stands and heads to the ring apron, up onto the top rope flying off and down with a picture perfect frog splash for 1...2...NO! Savage again gets the shoulder up, the crowd go wild and Elizabeth looks on very worried at ringside for her man.
-AJ stands picking Savage up and hitting his backbreaker followed right up with a gut buster he calls the spine breaker and covering for 1...2...NO! Savage kicks out again.
-AJ stands and signals the end looking to Styles Clash as he places Savage between his legs but no back body drop sends AJ over and Savage turns nailing an elbow to the head followed by a backhand chop and then a scoop slam.
-He looks out at the crowd and all of a suddenly its 1987 all over again as the entire arena are on their feet screaming for him to go for it. He points to the ropes, heading up and raises his arms high, flying off and hitting the big elbow for 1...2....NO! Styles gets the shoulder up! The crowd react with mixed disappointment and yet excitement! Savage is in shock and heads to the top rope again.
-He rises and up again hits the big elbow for 1....2....NO! Again AJ kicks out!
-The crowd are going nuts as Savage shakes his head and heads to the top rope for a third time, flying off again this time with more umpf but no at the last second AJ stands and blasts him with the pele kick. The crowd reacts loudly as both men are down, they are screaming for someone to get up.
-Both men rise out of it finally and turn toward each other when AJ grabs Savage and hooks him, hitting a perfect Styles Clash for 1...2....3!
-The crowd reacts loudly as AJ falls back and his music plays. He is handed the belt as he rises up out of breath and hurting but the winner.
-He holds the belt high for all to see and then turns back toward Savage who now has Elizabeth helping him off the mat, he comes to Savage staring into his eyes and holding out his hand. Savage stares with his beady eyes for a moment before returning it to a nice applause.
-He then applauds AJ as he leaves and AJ stands in the ring holding his IC title up in victory.
